Appearing on MSNBC’s Velshi, Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen discussed what he thinks is coming if Donald Trump is elected president again.
That’s not to say, of course, that it WILL happen. But we’ve all seen what Trump has said about revenge. Revenge for what he apparently believes is political persecution.
But November is expected to be a rematch between Trump and Joe Biden. If that’s the case, Trump has already made it abundantly clear that he intends to use the government — the DOJ, military, or otherwise — to enact revenge on his political enemies.
Cohen told Ali Velshi, the host of the show,
“He’s already said he intends to use SEAL Team Six to start rounding up his political enemies, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’m somewhere at the top of that list. I don’t think that you’re [Velshi] not at the top of that list, but you’re certainly on that list as well as the president of MSNBC, [retired U.S. Army] General Mark Milley, [former Vice President] Mike Pence, [former Secretary of State] Hillary Clinton, the entire Biden family,”
“This is not a joke and the fact that he is even considered to be the Republican nominee, one of our two political parties, is so offensive. It should be so offensive to everyone in this country.”
Trump himself told Fox & Friends last week that he wasn’t “sure I can answer the question” when it comes to whether or not he would use the DOJ to go after his opponents. But he’s been pretty clear that he intends to exact revenge.
Although Trump has hedged himself against these rumors, he did tell Sean Hannity that he would have “every right” to go after his political enemies. He went on to say, “Number one, they’re wrong. It has to stop, because otherwise, we’re not going to have a country. Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them.”
Trump’s legal team suggested in January that he would be within his legal recourse if he were president and literally ordered SEAL Team Six (you know, those guys that killed bin Laden) to kill a political opponent.
At this point, it’s hard to put anything past him.
